Welcome to Dr. Robert White - known as  "Dr Bob" to all his young patients - and his staff in our child-friendly clinic at the Nugget Mall!

img_happy.jpgWe are committed to providing the highest quality of dental care to our patients and all the support and information we can to their parents. As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Bob feels strongly about introducing kids to the dentist at an early age. Dr. Bob likes to see patients even before their first birthday, to prevent baby bottle decay. After that, we like our patients to return every 6 months for checkups, and after their second birthday, we add cleaning and fluoride treatments.

Dr. Bob only sees children and teenagers, which means our office is built exclusively around and for their needs.

A visit to Dr. Bob teaches kids that going to the dentist is fun - especially when you get to meet our resident feathered friends and say hi to the fuzzy doggies that hang out with our administrative staff!

Fees & Insurance

Preferred provider for:

  • Aetna
  • Premera Blue Cross/Blue Shield
  • Delta Dental
  • Met Life
  • United Concordia

We also accept Medicaid & Denali Kid Care, and bill insurance.

My fees are moderate for the Juneau area. United Concordia insures military personnel and their dependents and their allowable fee schedule is slightly below average. I use the Concordia fee schedule for all of my patients.

Dr Bob's philosophy on fillings

Mercury is becoming a serious health and environmental issue globally. In some European countries, mercury-containing amalgam fillings have been banned. In the continuing education dental courses I take, the leading teachers advocate the use of composite (tooth colored) fillings over amalgam primarily to avoid the mercury problem, and secondarily for the greatly improved aesthetics.

img_happygirl.gifI personally choose to only place the composite, tooth-colored fillings in my patients' teeth. At the present time with the great concern about mercury (reminiscent of the concerns about asbestos), it seems only prudent to avoid a potential mercury health problem when a good alternative is available.
